Steve Barrett at 'Meet the Author' eventHidden Mickeys expert to share tips for tracking the mouse(Casselberry, Fla.) Hidden Mickeys guidebooks author Steve Barrett will be featured at a “Meet the Author” event at the Seminole County Public Library, Jean Rhein Central Branch in Casselberry, Fla., on Oct. 20, 6:30 p.m. Barrett will speak on his favorite topic, hidden Mickeys, of course, concentrating on the ones in Walt Disney World. The fifth edition of Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World’s Best Kept Secrets has just been released along with the third edition of Disneyland’s Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Disneyland Resort’s Best Kept Secrets. For newcomers, Hidden Mickeys are partial or complete impressions of Mickey Mouse place by Disney Imagineers and artists to blend into the designs of attractions, hotels, restaurants and other areas of the parks. He will share his best tips for discovering Hidden Mickeys throughout Disney theme parks’ walls, art and landscapes. A book sale and author signing will follow the talk. Barrett encourages his fans to submit their findings through his web site, plus he acknowledges them whenever the books are updated. Along with Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World’s Best Kept Secrets and Disneyland’s Hidden Mickeys, Barrett has also written Hidden Mickeys Go To Sea, which takes the hunt to Disney’s cruise ships. He has also written The Hassle Free Walt Disney World Vacation, a commonsense guide for all ages to the ins and outs of WDW.
