Paris Movie Walks Finalist for 2009 Book of the Year AwardsWinners to be announced May 25.Branford, Conn. – Paris Movie Walks, by Michael Schürmann, has been selected as a finalist in the Travel Guide category for ForeWord Reviews’ 2009 Book of the Year Awards. The ForeWord Reviews finalists represent 360 publishers selected from 1,400 entries in 60 categories. The winners will be determined by a panel of librarians and booksellers selected from ForeWord’s readership. Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will be announced at BookExpo America in New York City on May 25. The winners of two Editor’s Choice Prizes will receive $1,500 each. Published by The Intrepid Traveler, Paris Movie Walks takes the reader through 10 guided tours that point out sites and neighborhoods from more than 200 films, from well-known Hollywood favorites to top action films to art house releases. According to Schürmann, changes in how Paris is depicted can be dramatic, even during a 10-year period of time. “Early representations of Paris in Hollywood movies basically took their cue from theatrical convention. There was a change in style to more realistic representations in the fifties, enabled by technological progress and accelerated by commercial pressures,” says Schürmann.
